1957-04-21 — The first local spiritual assembly in Nyasaland was formed at Lilongwe. 1993-01-00 — In a commitment to education and the welfare of humanity, the Bahá'ís have setup 60 grassroots Bahá'í literacy schools and 30 Bahá'í primary health care workers were trained and deployed. The largest scale institution is the private school named the Bambino School in Lilongwe. A Bahá'í school started in January 1993 and in 2003 Bambino School had an enrolment of 1,100 from nursery level through secondary school and secretarial college and has high school graduation including taking the International General Certificate of Secondary Education.
