Big Ones, 1998
by Sonja van Kerkhoff.

Two larger than life-size transluscent photo-images of children.
Installation in the Other Gallery, Banff Centre for the Arts, Canada.

Their gestures are ambiguous.
One stands on one leg holding his head in his arm and the other is bent over, feet wide apart,
about to roll a rock
over in the sand.

The title refers not just to size, but also to telling 'big ones' -stories.
We can't tell if the 'acts' are 'natural' or 'artifical', 'original' or 'copied', or whether they are 'real' or 'fictive' (lies).
