The Reverend Howard Ives, a Unitarian minister, pastor of a church in Summit New Jersey, and disalusioned seeker for higher truth and the true religion, met Abdu'l-Baha in New York City in 1912. After declaring his belief in Baha'u'llah he spent the rest of his life teaching the Faith of God to who ever he could. He authored the book Portals to Freedom, which has become a "classic" among Baha'is.

This site is dedicated to his memory and presents some memorabilia of and about Mr. Ives. At the moment it contains only stories about Abdu'l-Baha and the early believers by Muriel Ives Barrow Newhall, his daughter; see more background in the introduction. The site will later be expanded to include Tablets sent by Abdu'l-Baha to Howard Colby Ives.
