All books here are either public domain or posted with permission of author and/or publisher. Full copyright restrictions apply to ones which have been published: large portions may not be excerpted and printed without permission of the publisher, and full citations must be given (see also notes on copyright). If you are considering scanning a book, consult the list of books available in digital format to see if it's already been done. For information on ordering books, see the Guide to finding Bahá'í books online.
Given the many different lengths of published items, classification as a "book" is sometimes arbitrary. For the Baha'i Library, items under 50 pages are automatically classified as articles or essays and items over 75 pages are automatically classified as books. Items of 51-74 pages are classified based on subjective criteria such as venue of publication, formatting structure (e.g., whether broken into chapters), and length. Monographs are classified as articles, regardless of length. Theses and dissertations are in their own collection. Authorized-edition Sacred Writings are in a separate collection; only non-authorized editions are listed below.
