Einheit in der Vielfalt (Unity in Diversity) is an installation by Brigitte Schirren, of embroidered cushions filled with sand, silk cloth painted hangings accompanied with quotations and stylistic influences from places or religions such as: Tibet, Islam, Srebrenica, India and Indian cultures, Christianity, Bahá´í, Judaism, Ghana, and Australian Aboriginal beliefs. The diverse cushions and hangings are a unit intended to reflect the diversity of religions and preciousness of the cultures of the world.

She was born near Berlin in 1932 and after an apprenticeship as a weaver, studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Berlin.
