Rita Lotfi

poet, Venezuela / U.S.A.

To the quiet cup of the heart
Comes the dawn.
To fill that vessel
With luminous light,
Transcendent verse,
Murmurous prayer.
And as if by His grace,
It becomes glass-like and
rose-garden fair-
Would not the heft of its
quickened beat
Shatter heart's wall
Resound in air?
Each pulse
Beat spilling
the gathered light
Each breath
beat finding reunion nearer?
